Subject: PATCH: EDAC, core EDAC support code

This is a subset of the bluesmoke project core code, stripped of the NMI
work which isn't ready to merge and some of the "interesting" proc
functionality that needs reworking or just has no place in kernel. It
requires no core kernel changes except the added scrub functions already
posted.

The goal is to merge further functionality only after the core code is
accepted and proven in the base kernel, and only at the point the
upstream extras are really ready to merge.

why aren't these module parameters? Nowadays you can have sysfs-runtime
changable module parameters... sounds a lot nicer than adding a chunk of
sysctl stuff

The plan is to move from /proc to sysfs operations,
info and control. But the core works at this time and
patches will be forth coming once the baseline is in.
We want to make the currently work features "work".

that doesn't work that way.. with the /proc stuff you add an api/abi,
which you can't get rid of afterwards, so it's important to get that
right from the start.....

The proc interface for this dates back to Linux 2.0 or so. Existing
tools will still expect it for some time.
