I really wonder what your keyboard sends for those keys. To avoid the
freeze (and rescanning of the keyboard), you should be able to
comment-out these lines in atkbd.c:

         case ATKBD_KEY_BAT:
                 serio_rescan(atkbd->serio);
                 return;
