Most of the changes are as per suggestions by Petr Vandrovec (Thanks!) targeted towards selective saves/and restores specific to the setting of vgacon. Tested drivers: vga16fb using VGA_SAVE_CMAP | VGA_SAVE_MODE flags will correctly restore VGA text mode and high resolution graphics mode. rivafb (riva128) using VGA_SAVE_CMAP | VGA_SAVE_MODE | VGA_SAVE_FONT0 flags effectively restores VGA text and graphics mode with minor screen corruption. Tony PS: Please reverse previous patches (vgastate.diff and vgastate1.diff) if applied. --=-aYnWKff6+41wMzosbSQ8 Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=vgastate2.diff Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Type: text/x-patch; name=vgastate2.diff; charset=UTF-8 diff -Naur linux-2.5.50-js/drivers/video/Makefile linux/drivers/video/Makef= ile --- linux-2.5.50-js/drivers/video/Makefile 2002-12-05 06:15:22.000000000 +0= 000 +++ linux/drivers/video/Makefile 2002-12-05 06:14:08.000000000 +0000 @@ -6,7 +6,7 @@ # This list comes from 'grep -l EXPORT_SYMBOL *.[hc]'. =20 export-objs :=3D fbmem.o fbcmap.o fbmon.o modedb.o softcursor.o cfbfil= lrect.o \ - cfbcopyarea.o cfbimgblt.o cyber2000fb.o=20 + cfbcopyarea.o cfbimgblt.o cyber2000fb.o vgastate.o =20 # Each configuration option enables a list of files. =20 diff -Naur linux-2.5.50-js/drivers/video/vgastate.c linux/drivers/video/vga= state.c --- linux-2.5.50-js/drivers/video/vgastate.c 1970-01-01 00:00:00.000000000 = +0000 +++ linux/drivers/video/vgastate.c 2002-12-05 06:13:35.000000000 +0000 @@ -0,0 +1,504 @@ +/* + * linux/drivers/video/vgastate.c -- VGA state save/restore + * + * Copyright 2002 James Simmons + *=20 + * Copyright history from vga16fb.c: + * Copyright 1999 Ben Pfaff and Petr Vandrovec + * Based on VGA info at http://www.goodnet.com/~tinara/FreeVGA/home.htm + * Based on VESA framebuffer (c) 1998 Gerd Knorr + * + * This file is subject to the terms and conditions of the GNU General + * Public License.
