I have just about enough expertise in kernel to port this patch to newer kernel versions. I have absolutely no idea on how to fix this proper. And porting (in my case) is time-consuming and error-prone. I wish this patch was included into mainline kernel, since it doesn't seem like proper fix is anywhere in forseeable future, and I need to get things done now. Preferably without wasting effort on forward-porting.
