After an apm-suspend the psmouse is becoming crazy, i.e. the mouse lost synchronization and dmesg provides: drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf80: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf20: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf80: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf20: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf80: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf20: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf80: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf20: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf80: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf20: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf80: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf20: host controller halted. very bad psmouse.c: Lost synchronization, throwing 1 bytes away. input: ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse on isa0060/serio1 When I compile psmouse as a module I can recover the synchronization by unloading/reloading the psmouse-module (with rmmod/modprobe psmouse) and everythings seems to work fine as far as the mouse is concerned. (I do not know for the usb-controller since I have no usb-device to test.) After another apm-suspend the problem reappears in the same way. I have also tried the snapshot release 2.6.0-test2-bk6 which shows the same problem. I also tried the apm-config options CONFIG_APM_ALLOW_INTS=y and CONFIG_APM_REAL_MODE_POWER_OFF=y which makes no difference. I have attached an external PS-2 optical mouse which generally works very well. The synchronization problem also appears for the internal touch-pad mouse. I am using the latest NVIDIA-driver version 1.0-4496 (patched for 2.5-kernels) which officially now supports apm. However, it seems that the problem is not related to this driver since it works well with apm and the 2.4.22-pre?/rc1 kernels. Furthermore, the mouse-suspend problems also appears with the NVIDIA-driver not installed and in text-mode. Then dmesg provides: uhci-hcd 0000:00:1d.0: suspend to state 3 uhci-hcd 0000:00:1d.2: suspend to state 3 Suspending devices uhci-hcd 0000:00:1d.2: suspend to state 3 uhci-hcd 0000:00:1d.0: suspend to state 3 Enabling SEP on CPU 0 Devices Resumed uhci-hcd 0000:00:1d.0: resume PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:1d.0 to 64 uhci-hcd 0000:00:1d.2: resume PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:1d.2 to 64 drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf80: host system error, PCI problems? drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf80: host controller halted. very bad drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf20: host system error, PCI problems? drivers/usb/host/uhci-hcd.c: bf20: host controller halted. very bad Apart from this problem I have very good experiences with the 2.6.0-test2 release (also on other computers) apart from the standard trap with no VT-terminal configured etc. (which took me 1 day to solve). I have appended below: 1. output of dmesg after boot 2. output of lspci 3. output of lsmod 4. /proc/interrupts 5. .config please make cc to "frahm@irsamc.ups-tlse.fr" since I am subscribed to the mailing list.
