Maybe a warning could be added The docs and the programs are full of warnings already. Too many in fact. People worry and get nervous, needlessly. In a very small percentage of cases there really are problems, but again these warnings "there might be problems" are not very helpful. The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 70780. There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024, and could in certain setups cause problems with: 1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO) 2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs (e.g., DOS FDISK, OS/2 FDISK) Does this help anybody? - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-kernel" in the body of a message to majordomo@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html Please read the FAQ at http://www.tux.org/lkml/
