I remember trying 2.6.1-mm4 + your sort extable patch (i386 specific
version) on Mandrake 9.2 -> no boot.  Removing -funit-at-a-time cured
problem.  I didn't have time to investigate it more (like trying
patched vanilla).  Just FYI.
