I just thought you use an APIC because the .config you sent contains: CONFIG_X86_UP_APIC=y CONFIG_X86_UP_IOAPIC=y CONFIG_X86_LOCAL_APIC=y CONFIG_X86_IO_APIC=y But you're right, if you don't use an APIC, my patch makes no difference...
