As some others already have pointed out already, many (of not most) projects out there that builds against the running kernel use '/lib/modules/$(uname-r)/build' to locate the SOURCE, and will be broken. Rather use an 'output' or some such symlink to store the object files, but keep the meaning of 'build' intact. If, then please treat it like any other stable interface, and depreciate it in 2.7, and change (but better, remove it, so that there will be no misunderstanding) in 2.8. =20 Thanks, --=20 Martin Schlemmer --=-iJF76a483jVs4ClJvCqq Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBA0ybOqburzKaJYLYRAsWqAJ9Gxmdv+i2O9mItIgtdj5qy0ghcVwCgivaU kX1/nvvN02+bAOiM6CJTPyI= =sr2q -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-iJF76a483jVs4ClJvCqq-- - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-kernel" in the body of a message to majordomo@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html Please read the FAQ at http://www.tux.org/lkml/
