Han's method is also very likely nugatory within the USA. http://copyright.gov/title17/92chap2.html#204 clearly states that to transfer title of copyrighted work requires a written instrument of conveyance. That instrument of conveyance has to be signed and should in many ways look a lot like a deed or title for real estate -- ie. it must denote the boundaries of the transaction in a specific and explicit manner. In this instance it would probably be required to state in as unambiguous manner as possible which files and which versions this transfer is to cover. In the case of patches to preexisting files; it should also be specific as to which lines are to be covered unless one writes it in a style like a "Quit Claim Deed". --=20 http://dmoz.org/profiles/pollei.html http://sourceforge.net/users/stephen_pollei/ http://www.orkut.com/Profile.aspx?uid=3D2455954990164098214 http://stephen_pollei.home.comcast.net/ GPG Key fingerprint =3D EF6F 1486 EC27 B5E7 E6E1 3C01 910F 6BB5 4A7D 9677 --=-o9fNtjruZLyH0ytVHBc5 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBBk+z4kQ9rtUp9lncRAipOAJ49nINyHbTPz6xDUXIQOmunwWdrYQCfXnXI TPua4uqxx1The08UNOF2sOo= =6GaK -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-o9fNtjruZLyH0ytVHBc5-- - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-kernel" in the body of a message to majordomo@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html Please read the FAQ at http://www.tux.org/lkml/
