Thanks! The following patch should be appropriate for your configuration. Unfortunately, I have not access to ALi hardware at the moment - I cannot test it. Andre, is there any reason that all the PCI IDE drivers in 2.4 depend on CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDMA_PCI instead of CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEPCI ? As you see, pure PIO configuration for PCI IDE is still useful for some people...
