Because it's your directory, dammit, and nobody else should be allowed to clutter it with files you can't even read. :) What's so hard to understand about that viewpoint? Want to try to explain the converse to a Windows/Netware user? "But it's *MY* folder, why can't I get rid of this file I can't read and have no use for?" Trying to make it "make sense to the user" without expecting the user to learn at least a bit about what's going on is futile, as Alan Perlis understood: When someone says "I want a programming language in which I need only say what I wish done," give him a lollipop. --==_Exmh_1128492198_2752P Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Exmh version 2.5 07/13/2001 iD8DBQFDQ2ymcC3lWbTT17ARAgTEAJ42Yl1kRcK0tssxxF7+wXza5t8fagCfc3d/ t+Hs9Z9NUuubU7HvhFZYVjY= =EK1X -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --==_Exmh_1128492198_2752P-- - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-kernel" in the body of a message to majordomo@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html Please read the FAQ at http://www.tux.org/lkml/
