Communication is at the moment one character send (and receive) every half second. Running kernel version 5.2.14 and using device tree from phytec yocto bsp modified to support our custom base-board. Few months ago I was asking for help exactly same error for "v1" prototype hardware _but_ that was happening when trying to load xhci_pci.ko kernel module (using uPD720202 connected tp i.MX6 using PEX8605). This problem is now solved (likely hidden) after having uPD720202 chip variant which supports external EEPROM for firmware and loaded EEPROM with proper firmware. I noticed that time the xhci_pci.ko driver crashes likely because the uPD720202 gives wrong status/information when not supporting EEPROM (whereas EEPROM was populated on board). Now we don't see any crashes because of PCIe bus (though we still have to program the USB3.0 power-delivery/connection controllers so USB3.0 communication part is untested). Now at this moment we see "Unhandled fault: imprecise external abort (0x1406)" very quickly without even enabling PCIe/PEX8605 switch. Just start communicating with STM32F0 directly connected to i.MX6 UART3 RX/TX pins (with 550ohm resistors between SOM/STM32 connection). With-in few minutes of communication back and forth we see the kernel crash and dump always shows PC at arch_cpu_idle(). BTW tested the same kernel and device-tree on phytec-MIRA development-kit and connecting UART3 to PC using FTDI cable works (UART on dev-kit is available through RS232 transceiver for PC connection, TTL level is not accessible).
