I thought I replied to this from work yesterday, but not seeing anything on my personal email. Oh well. You currently support an IIO kfifo buffer. That isn't actually used in the path to the touchscreen assuming you are using a callback buffer. So in theory it might be nice to drop the IIO side. However, I'm not sure the core actually supports that at the moment, or what needs to change to make it possible.
