The first time we hit a non devm function that needs manual unwinding, then all later functions in probe should also go the manual unwind route. What you have here leads to a remove order which is not the precise reverse of probe and makes it a lot harder to review for subtle race conditions. In this case you leave the userspace interface exposed whilst removing some of the underlying infrastructure. I really don't want to have to figure out if that is safe (probably isn't!) Much better to just use iio_device_register here and have an explicit iio_device_unregister in the remove function.
