There is a simple clever way to satisfy all of the tests. - sigpending < LONG_MAX && sigpending <= task_rlimit(t, RLIMIT_SIGPENDING) + sigpending < task_rlimit(t, RLIMIT_SIGPENDING) That would just need a small comment to explain the subtleties.
