I've posted some of my suggested changes as a GitHub PR to your fork [1], for your review convenience. And, one more thing -- putting on my Gentoo hat -- we already have a real Linux distribution to test all of this! A previous revision of this port is already integrated into the main Gentoo tree (albeit only providing headers, via the sys-kernel/linux-headers package), and a great number of packages can already be built and confirmed working, with the WIP glibc port from Loongson [2] also integrated. We also have built complete Gentoo stage3 tarballs for testing, available at the Gentoo mirrors [3]; these are self-hosting sysroots that can be used natively, or chroot-ed into with help of qemu-user. More information can be found at the Gentoo/LoongArch project page [4]. However (taking off my Gentoo hat again), for now people outside Loongson cannot actually run the kernel on their boxes, because of the changed boot protocol. Elegant as it is, it's incompatible with existing firmware and grub, so perhaps someone (preferably from Loongson) could provide a way for community members to migrate to the new boot protocol, or even better, just provide firmware upgrades to the new world.
