If you can demonstrate a *measurable* and significant overhead from calling dma_sync_sgtable_*() on your platform when the device is coherent and nothing is bounce-buffered, then the first thing we can do is look at making that quicker (for everyone). Otherwise, this seems like the famous bad kind of premature optimisation.
