It's accurate that the existing FPE support of stmmac reli= es=20 on the mentioned patch. Before the emergence of the ethtool-mm framework, s= ome=20 users might have been able to use the FP function in this way. But with the= =20 introduction of the common ethtool-mm framework, it is more important to up= date=20 the existing stmmac FPE implementation to support ethtool. And I now fully= =20 understand that it would not be appropriate to add xgmac support for FPE ba= sed=20 on the current implementation. I appreciate you pointing out the problems w= ith=20 the current implementation and providing suggestions, they are incredibly=20 helpful for the subsequent refactoring of stmmac's FPE functionality. =20 Jianheng
