One thing we could also do is have rcu_nocb_try_flush_bypass() return false if the trylock fails, and then retry till lock is available. That would give us roughly the same behavior as rcu_nocb_flush_bypass() but I am not sure if it is worth it, because the shrinker will just try again if memory pressure is not relieved anyway.
