Ctrl-ALT-F12 selects VT mode from a locked X-window, ALT-F1 gets you
to the first VT, ALT-F2, next, etc.
No problem at all.

    I was going to compile a list of innovations that could be
    attributed to Microsoft. Once I realized that Ctrl-Alt-Del
    was handled in the BIOS, I found that there aren't any.
