Hi lists! > Did you try a "dmesg"? It does not print anything more... But: I have a segmentation fault issued by the writing process (tar). And then a message from syslogd telling me about the assert failure. It appears when un-tar'ing the kernel source, that is quite a lot of data/files. When writing a smaller amout of data, everything just go fine. Loop is correctly unmounting, and when remounted, it is clean, and everything is there. When un-tar'ing kernel source, assertion failure. Hard reboot needed most of the time and then loop is lacking everything I was to put on it, and what was previously present is still there. Filesystem is clean (recovery complete). You'll find attached everything my serial console spits out since the boot of the kernel, and the ksymoops-decoded log trace. It is from 2.4.18-pre7 with ext3-debug patch applied. Nothing more, nothing less. Hope it helps. Ready for anymore testing tomorrow. > OK, that's certainly something I can try to reproduce --- ext3 over > loop over smbfs is not something which gets tested every day by the > ext3 developers. :-) Anyway that is a great job you all do nonetheless! Keep on! Basic users (as I am) are there to test twisted cases! ;-/ Regards, Yann. -- .---------------------------.----------------------.------------------. | Yann E.
