I found that bug report when searching for the specific error message "shpchp: shpc_init: cannot reserve MMIO region" that is present when booting the installed system but not when booting the live CD. The md modules are loaded from initramfs, way before the PCI bridge driver, so it seems plausible that they somehow snatch a piece of address space that they shouldn't. Presumably this could be due to md wanting avoid copying, hence allocating MMIO address space. /var/log/syslog and lspci -vv output are appended so you can see for yourself.
