When I did apt-get This sounds like a packaging policy bug in your distro (and I'm guessing your distro is Ubuntu). The LKML isn't really the place for that type of packaging/policy issue but you might have more luck asking in one of the Ubuntu support areas (see http://www.ubuntu.com/support/communitysupport for the options).
