If people do want to push stuff via me, that's fine, but they're going to have to explicitly ask for it. If they don't, that's also fine. (There are those who clearly stated that they want my continued involvement and review.) In any case, patch 1 looks like it's entirely related to serial stuff, and it looks like Alan has some outstanding issues there. I think that at least needs Alan's ack or Alan to deal with it.
