Debian is well established as a solid base for IT services for years. Nevertheless, users from the automation industry until now still had the problem that they had to patch their kernels manually if they had hard realtime requirements. The Debian packets provided now consist of the kernels in exactly the state as they have been released by the maintainers. This makes it possible that users can direct their bug reports directly into the upstream Realtime Preemption project, in order to improve the common code base. The project page is here: http://www.pengutronix.de/software/linux-rt/debian_en.html For discussions, bug reports etc. please use the linux-rt-users mailing list. Kudos to the Pengutronix Debian team (Uwe Kleine-Koenig, Meike Reichle and Alexander Reichle-Schmehl) for making this possible! If you happen to be at the Dresden during the next days, please come around and meet parts of the Pengutronix RT team there: http://www.osadl.org/RTLWS-2009.rtlws-2009.0.html Robert -- Pengutronix e.K. | | Industrial Linux Solutions | http://www.pengutronix.de/ | Peiner Str. 6-8, 31137 Hildesheim, Germany | Phone: +49-5121-206917-0 | Amtsgericht Hildesheim, HRA 2686 | Fax: +49-5121-206917-5555 | -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-kernel" in the body of a message to majordomo@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html Please read the FAQ at http://www.tux.org/lkml/
