But anyway, the xd problem continues, so that if `corrected` then the patch wasn`t sucessful. dmesg below. config is like before. Besides of the several problems I reported already, there is a next one: / when the computer has a floppy drive and it`s enabled in BIOS, but there is no floppy inside, then the boot process hangs long time, reclaiming read error on the floppy. This is a regression, before it wasnt. It should be checked fast if there is a floppy in, and when not, proceede with the booting. (OBS my computer hasn`t a floppy drive, I had this problem on another computer than that of the dmesg below) / After each reboot, in KDE the keyboard table is alterated. This happened never before and is a problem produced by the kernel what entered NOW, also on -rc8 it wasn`t yet present. w.landgraf Linux SYS distro mirror: ftp://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/linux/install/sys ============================ Linux version 2.6.32-git2 (root@werner) (gcc version 4.3.3 (GCC) ) #1 SMP Wed Dec 9 03:17:59 GFT 2009 BIOS-provided physical RAM map: BIOS-e820: 0000000000000000 - 000000000009f000 (usable) BIOS-e820: 000000000009f000 - 00000000000a0000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 00000000000f0000 - 0000000000100000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 0000000000100000 - 00000000bfee0000 (usable) BIOS-e820: 00000000bfee0000 - 00000000bfee3000 (ACPI NVS) BIOS-e820: 00000000bfee3000 - 00000000bfef0000 (ACPI data) BIOS-e820: 00000000bfef0000 - 00000000bff00000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 00000000f0000000 - 00000000f4000000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 00000000fec00000 - 0000000100000000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 0000000100000000 - 0000000240000000 (usable) NX (Execute Disable) protection: active DMI 2.4 present.
