Apparently not for everyone. I'm using one such card with a 20G Western Digital drive on 2.4.19-pre7-ac2 w/o any problems apart from having to pass 'ide2=ata66' to get the driver to allow me to use UDMA4/5 (yes, the drive *is* attached using an 80-wire cable). The U100TX2's BIOS rev. is 2.20.0.11. kala@liv:~$ uname -a Linux liv 2.4.19-pre7-ac2-O1-2 #1 Tue Apr 23 19:16:09 CEST 2002 i686 unknown kala@liv:~$ /sbin/lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 440FX - 82441FX PMC [Natoma] (rev 02) 00:04.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82371SB PIIX3 ISA [Natoma/Triton II] (rev 01) 00:04.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82371SB PIIX3 IDE [Natoma/Triton II] 00:06.0 Unknown mass storage controller: Promise Technology, Inc.: Unknown device 4d68 (rev 02) 00:07.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
