Sure it does.

  make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build modules SUBDIRS=$(pwd)

or, if you like clumsy and slow:

  SRCDIR := /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build
  CFLAGS := $(shell $(MAKE) -s -C $(SRCDIR) script SCRIPT='echo $$$$CFLAGS')
