From: Trond Myklebust Subject: [PATCH 3/4] NFS: Add an nfsiod workqueue Date: Tue, 19 Feb 2008 18:05:00 -0500 Message-ID: <20080219230459.22007.63210.stgit@c-69-242-210-120.hsd1.mi.comcast.net> References: <20080219230459.22007.10990.stgit@c-69-242-210-120.hsd1.mi.comcast.net> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Cc: linux-nfs@vger.kernel.org To: Neil Brown Return-path: Received: from mx2.netapp.com ([216.240.18.37]:53378 "EHLO mx2.netapp.com" rhost-flags-OK-OK-OK-OK) by vger.kernel.org with ESMTP id S1755984AbYBSXPF (ORCPT ); Tue, 19 Feb 2008 18:15:05 -0500 In-Reply-To: <20080219230459.22007.10990.stgit-KPEdlmqt5P7XOazzY/2fV4TcuzvYVacciM950cveMlzk1uMJSBkQmQ@public.gmane.org> Sender: linux-nfs-owner@vger.kernel.org List-ID: NFS post-rpciod cleanups often involve tasks that cannot be safely performed within the rpciod context (due to deadlock concerns). We therefore add a dedicated NFS workqueue that can perform tasks like cleaning up state after an interrupted NFSv4 open() call, or calling put_nfs_open_context() after an asynchronous read or write call.
