It seems to also signal that you want to use machine creds, and clearly if you're a regular old user you don't want to be doing that. I've been able to get Trond's patch to work, but had to also couple it with the patch below. Part of the problem seems to have been that the nfsacl client isn't getting a rpc_pipe dir instantiated because pipe_dir_name isn't set (as Jan's patch also points out). We could just as easily stick this in the "nfs" directory though.
