I have written code that is able to change the PS settings over UART and USB using BlueZ, but I never published any of them. However using the wrong settings can broke your Bluetooth module forever. The pskey tool will work for you if you detach the UART. Look at this page for detailed information http://www.grinta.net/howto/pskey.html But some of these information are outdated and maybe won't work with newer firmware versions.
