Actually, I was using kernel 2.4.20 in which GNOME did
not provide a GUI.
So I wanted to build one myself.
Now, probably I will be upgrading to kernel 2.6 and
using the available GUI.

It is not a bad idea building a GUI. So lets start it
asap.
