I tried this, but despite having all the hot-plugging options enabled in the kernel and starting hot-plugging and making sure all the options look right, sometime I can take the device out of the usb socket and the system is ok, but even if it is, when I put it back it locks the system hard. I wonder if this is because I have everything compiled into the kernel? The hot-plugging documentation and script comments only talk of modules, is this my problem? Also, my 6310I stops responding after one Gnokii command, this may be a gnokii problem I'm not sure, I'll put it to that list.
