From: akpm@linux-foundation.org Subject: [patch 069/283] ext3: handle corrupted orphan list at mount Date: Fri, 25 Jul 2008 00:02:01 -0700 Message-ID: <200807250702.m6P721g8028456@imap1.linux-foundation.org> Cc: akpm@linux-foundation.org, duaneg@dghda.com, linux-ext4@vger.kernel.org To: torvalds@linux-foundation.org Return-path: Received: from smtp1.linux-foundation.org ([140.211.169.13]:59598 "EHLO smtp1.linux-foundation.org" rhost-flags-OK-OK-OK-OK) by vger.kernel.org with ESMTP id S1751343AbYGYHCG (ORCPT ); Fri, 25 Jul 2008 03:02:06 -0400 Sender: linux-ext4-owner@vger.kernel.org List-ID: From: "Duane Griffin" If the orphan node list includes valid, untruncatable nodes with nlink > 0 the ext3_orphan_cleanup loop which attempts to delete them will not do so, causing it to loop forever. Fix by checking for such nodes in the ext3_orphan_get function. This patch fixes the second case (image hdb.20000009.softlockup.gz) reported in http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10882.
