From: Eryu Guan Subject: [PATCH] ext4: test migration to non-extent based file format Date: Sun, 5 Jul 2015 00:08:58 +0800 Message-ID: <1436026138-4278-1-git-send-email-eguan@redhat.com> Cc: linux-ext4@vger.kernel.org, Eryu Guan To: fstests@vger.kernel.org Return-path: Sender: fstests-owner@vger.kernel.org List-Id: linux-ext4.vger.kernel.org On unpatched kernel, converting file with a hole at the beginning to non-extent based format results in ext4 i_blocks corruption. Add a new regression test case for it. These two commits fixed the corruption: ext4: be more strict when migrating to non-extent based file ext4: correctly migrate a file with a hole at the beginning Signed-off-by: Eryu Guan --- Note that this patch applies cleanly only after my patch: generic/081: wait for lv to be settled before creating fs on it common/config | 1 + tests/ext4/005 | 83 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ tests/ext4/group | 1 + 3 files changed, 85 insertions(+) create mode 100755 tests/ext4/005 diff --git a/common/config b/common/config index 73da60a..dca7aad 100644 --- a/common/config +++ b/common/config @@ -191,6 +191,7 @@ export WIPEFS_PROG="`set_prog_path wipefs`" export DUMP_PROG="`set_prog_path dump`" export RESTORE_PROG="`set_prog_path restore`" export LVM_PROG="`set_prog_path lvm`" +export CHATTR_PROG="`set_prog_path chattr`" # use 'udevadm settle' or 'udevsettle' to wait for lv to be settled. # newer systems have udevadm command but older systems like RHEL5 don't. diff --git a/tests/ext4/005 b/tests/ext4/005 new file mode 100755 index 0000000..1028bf3 --- /dev/null +++ b/tests/ext4/005 @@ -0,0 +1,83 @@ +#! /bin/bash +# FS QA Test 005 +# +# Test corruption issue in converting file with a hole at the beginning to +# non-extent based format +# +# These two commits fixed the corruption: +# ext4: be more strict when migrating to non-extent based file +# ext4: correctly migrate a file with a hole at the beginning +# +#----------------------------------------------------------------------- +# Copyright (c) 2015 Red Hat Inc.
