List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: Chris, It is possible that the Solaris client is getting confused if the mount daemon on the server is advertising version 3 of the MOUNT protocol while the NFS version is only version 2. The "soft" option may also be playing a part in this. A network trace of the interaction would help explain a lot; if one is available.
