Hi hostapd-list!
Hi linux-wireless-list!
I have successfully installed kernel 2.6.32.8 using a debian system on a
flash card. In a small ALIX-board from PC-engines I am using
MiniPCI-WLAN Cards Model Senao EMP-7605 - those are 802.11n-cards and I
would like to test them regarding their speed. Therefore I compiled the
new kernel with ath9k enabled.
Ok, now I get the card running, iw can access it (see below for output
of iw list). I tried to make it become an accesspoint by using hostapd
in version 0.6.10(self-compiled for this sole purpose). Therefore I just
set up a very simple config for hostapd (seen below as well). The
problem is, that after starting hostapd I get this message:
:~# hostapd /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf -ddd
Configuration file: /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf

This is a bug in hostapd 0.6.10. I would suggest using the latest 0.7.x
version (currently, 0.7.1) when using AP mode with mac80211-based
drivers. Alternatively, you can get a fix for this from the current
snapshot of the 0.6.x branch (and eventually, 0.6.11, once that is
released).
