Subject: firmware needed

I have a problem with using knoppix 6.7.1 on my dell laptop running XP security pack 3 from 2005. I keep getting no firmware loaded when I try to access the wireless modem, which is a conexant HDA D110 MDCV.92. Any idea what drivers I need for this ancient hardware and how to install them with linux? Any tips would be appreciated.

This sounds like an analog modem to me, particularly because of the
"MDCV.92", which most likely means "MoDem Controller V.92". i.e. a 56K
modem. Could you get us an lspci of the box at all?
