I tried the tar-ball from 25-1-2008 and the device still didn't work.
So    I    got    the   USB-Hama-Stick   which   has   a   ralink   chip   and
http://www.ralinktech.com offers a driver for linux (rt73.ko) with which I got
everything to work nicely.
