No, it doesn't, but I was unsuccessfully trying to connect to an adhoc network the other day myself - using my phone to create the network. An xp computer in the house and other phones were having no issue connecting to it though. I didn't really care to troubleshoot it, so I just switched to using bluetooth for the connection. Possibly related.
