Hi,

thanks for reporting this; I can confirm that bug.

It is triggered by
BUG_ON(!timer->function);
in timer.c after calling mod_timer in mesh_peer_init.

Ok, so I have to dig into, what is different in peering when userspace 
tools are involved.
