Subject: to compile the kernel

hi :

i wanna recompile the kernel , but what i have:
is that i found in the boot folder these directories:
vmlinuz-2.2.14-100smp
vmlinuz-2.2.14-100
vmlinuz-2.2.14-15BOOT
and other ones ..

so depending on the lilo.config content , it appears that is the
vmlinuz-2.2.14-100 kernel that is running .

in the boot reportory , i have these repertories:

linux
linux-2.2-14
linux-2.2.5
redhat

so , having these parameters, what is please the detailed andexact
steps to make and recompile a new kernel.

best regards,
mourad

Please see the Kernel Howto at http://www.linuxdoc.org ,
Buildkernel at http://buildkernel.stearns.org , and "The Open Source Tech
Support Partnership" at http://www.linuxmonth.com . In particular, your
phrasing of this last question gives me the impression you want someone
else to do the work for you.
