Subject: Rusty's Remarkably Unreliable 2.6 List

Hi all,

Yet another unofficial list of non-trivial features pending
which are "ready to go" and not already in:

http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/rusty/2.6-not-in-yet/

Features include Remarkably Unreliable Invasiveness Meter, and
"executive summary patch" which shows existing source code which is
effected.

If anyone has a direct URL for EVMS or LVM2 against a recent kernel,
please provide.

Current list reproduced below,
Rusty.

Rusty's Remarkably Unreliable List of Pending 2.6 Features

Hi. I'm bitter because my module rewrite didn't get in earlier, so now
I'm spending some effort to ensure that there's a one-stop list of
patches which might go into 2.6, making it easier to review, argue,
and ideally allow Linus to decide what is to be considered for the
freeze.

Entrance criteria:

* Must have been submitted to lkml in the last month,
* Hasn't been rejected by the maintainer/Linus,
* Not appropriate for insertion during stable series (ie. too invasive, new feature, breaks userspace)

Key:
A: Author
M: lkml posting describing patch
D: Download URL
S: Size of patch, number of files altered (source/config), number of new files.
X: Exective summary (only parts of patch which alter existing source files, not config/make files)
N: Random notes

In rough order of invasiveness (number of altered source files):

I put some patches up on the EVMS website last week that correspond to the
latest CVS code. I've updated them again this morning.

The scsi multi-path patch is not in Rusty's list.

It includes modifications for the aic, qlogic, ips and 53c700 scsi host
adapter drivers, but not for all the other host adapter drivers.

The patch is not hardware specific, but it does require changes in list
traversal that are used by all (or nearly all) the scsi adapter drivers.
