Does anybody know, how to configure this ethernet card to work with
media type 10BaseT? Ifconfig doesn't work.

Depending on the card type I suspect your looking for either ethtool or
mii-tool.

What happens? Does it use 100mbit/s? I have connected a Sis900 and a
3c509 with a crossover cable. It automatically worked at 100mbit/s.
