Subject: 2.6.0-test2 (2.6.0-test2-mm1) unknown block device when mounting SCSI disk.

Hello folks,

Recently i compiled 2.6.0-test2 test kernel for testing purpose but i
have a problem with mounting my SCSI hard disk (the same hardware works
on 2.4.21 kernel).System is Slackware Linux 9.0 with gcc 3.2.2

My hardware is NFORCE2 based GigaByte 7NNXP board with Athlon 2500+ cpu
Adaptec AHA-2940U2W controller with Plextor SCSI cdrom and cdrw and IBM
36LZX 36gig disk.

When booting the 2.6.0-test2 (tried 2.6.0-test2-mm1 kernel too) the SCSI
subsystem will not probe the disk but it recognozies both of the cdroms
just fine and while doing so the cdrom lights will flash on and off.

I tried with both devfs=mount and devfs=nomount option as well as
root=/dev/sda3 and root=0803 as suggested on the list (tried also with
root=/dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target6/lun0).

Attached is .config from 2.6.0-test2 kernel.

I took few snaps from the boot process which can be viewed at
http://www.blazebox.homeip.net:81/diffie/images/linux-2.6.0-test2/

I am not subscribed to the list, please CC any replies to me.

I can provide more information upon request.Thank you for your help in
advance.

Regards,

Paul B.
