Subject: [PATCH 00/10] Introduce Allwinner A20 support

Hi Everyone,

This patchset brings in support for the Allwinner A20 SoC.

This SoC is pretty much the heir of the Allwinner A10. They both have a lot of
IP in common, the A20 is pin-compatible with the A10, the only major difference
being that the A20 has 2 Cortex-A7 instead of the single Cortex-A8 found in the
A10.

Just like the A31, the SMP support isn't there yet, nor do we have clock
support or any storage device.

We also have the same SMP bit issue that makes Linux run without the caches
enabled for the time being when CONFIG_SMP isn't set.

This serie comes on top of the serie "ARM: sunxi: Add support for the Allwinner
A31 SoC" I sent previously.

Subject: [PATCH 07/10] ARM: sun7i: Add the PIO controller node to the DTSI

The PIO controller is responsible for the GPIO/muxing/external
interrupts handling. Now that we have support for the A20 pin set in the
pinctrl driver, we can start using it in the DTSI.

Subject: [PATCH 05/10] pinctrl: sunxi: Add Allwinner A20 pins set

The Allwinner A20 is pin-compatible with the older A10, so the two pin
set are quite similar. However, since the A20 has new features, we can't
just use the A10 pin set as is, and we need to define our own for the
A20.

Subject: [PATCH 04/10] pinctrl: sunxi: Wrap long compatible declaration lines

The compatible declaration and their associated data are exceeding the
80-characters width limit.

Split these lines to make them more readable and fit in the kernel
coding guidelines.

The Olimex A20-Olinuxino is an open-hardware board based on the

I'm not sure this is actually an improvement, the original reads quite
naturally even if it is a little long. What about a #define such that
you can write:
COMPAT("allwinner,sun4i-a10-pinctrl", sun4i_a10_pinctrl_data),
and thereby stay within 80-chars?

If you wanted to go overboard you could code the macro such that:
SUNXI_COMPAT(sun4i,a10),
expanded to what you want, that's pretty obfuscated though.

And the preferred node name is "serial", not "uart", according to the ePAPR

It allows to easily differentiate distinct pin groups for the same IP.

A second group of pin that can be muxed to uart0 would be defined as
uart0_pins_b: uart0@1.

I could have used any other construct, like uart0-0 and uart0-1, I just
find that it fits more in the usual DT constructs.

But only for actual serial driver right? This is a pinctrl group
declaration.

To be honest, I'm not convinced by any of the constructs seen above. The
one we had is too long, the 4-lines one is not that great either, and
the macro only obfuscates things away.

You know what, I'll drop this patch.
