No.

Could you provide a bit more info:
Exact command line.
What happened before issuing this command, in other words where in the
compilation process do you see problems.
Architecture is relevant as well.

Perhaps there's a
make blah 2>&1
somewhere that's being misinterpreted (whether because you're using a
different shell, or something was mis-typed somewhere)
