PIII 650 UP. kernel tainted by speedtch.o (usb Speedtouch Alcatel driver).
OOPS logged in /var/log/messages during shutdown (the 2 oops come together).
*It is not repeatable*. I haven't catched such oops with 2.5.8-pre3.
I hope it can help.
ksymoops 2.4.5 on i686 2.5.8. Options used
-V (default)
-k /proc/ksyms (default)
-l /proc/modules (default)
-o /lib/modules/2.5.8/ (default)
-m /usr/src/linux/System.map (default)
Warning: You did not tell me where to find symbol information. I will
assume that the log matches the kernel and modules that are running
right now and I'll use the default options above for symbol resolution.
If the current kernel and/or modules do not match the log, you can get
more accurate output by telling me the kernel version and where to find
map, modules, ksyms etc. ksymoops -h explains the options.

Bleah, please send any problems with this driver to the authors of the
driver, as I have no idea of what that driver does (or even if it has
been properly converted to the 2.5 USB api changes.)
thanks,

This speedtouch kernel mode driver has problems with preemption.
Perhaps this is the source of your problem. This is one reason I moved
to the user space driver, see http://speedtouch.sourceforge.net
