The 2GB limit on vfat is quite troublesome, especially as the big hard
disk is shared with Windoze (for the family :-( ) and I need all that
luvverly space.
I've heard of it here some time, just can't find it...

2.4.21 is working fine on 2GB> files, all you need is an proper glibc afaik.

Which version do I need? I'm using 2.2.5 (compiled using kernel 2.4.18
headers) on a 2.4.21 system.

2.3.1 is the one i use, i i belive you will have to upgrade to this version to
handle files over 2G
